ABA Laboratory Extruder for ABA Blown Film R&D

The LabEx ABA is a compact coextrusion line that produces three layer ABA blown film with only two extruders. One extruder feeds both outer skins through a flow splitter, while the second feeds the core. This is an economical way to test skin and core structures with recycled or lower cost material inside.

How ABA works

Three layers, two extruders

The ABA layout gives you a skin, core and skin film structure while keeping the machine compact and affordable.

Extruder 1 feeds the two outer A layers through a flow splitter into two concentric outer channels. Extruder 2 feeds the central B layer. A compact manifold keeps the flow balanced for stable three layer bubbles. Use the same material in both skins, with different colour or additive levels if required, and a different material in the core.

This is the practical, lower cost route to three layer film: place recycled or lower cost material in the protected core, while maintaining quality, colour, slip or antiblock in the skins.
