Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

Which screw diameters and L/D ratios are available?

The standard program includes screw diameters of 18, 20, 25 and 30 mm, each in 20D and 28D versions. The longer 28D process section gives additional melting and mixing length for demanding formulations.

Can MULTI-X process recycled and bio-based polymers?

Yes. The screw, barrel and feed zone can be selected for virgin, recycled and bio-based polymers. When recycled material is used, melt filtration and pressure monitoring may be recommended.

How can the extruder be mounted?

It can be supplied pillar mounted in a fixed position, pillar mounted with adjustable height and angle, as a table-mounted version, or as a complete stand-alone movable unit.

What output can I expect?

The indicative standard range is approximately 2–25 kg/h, depending on model, material, screw design, temperature, tooling and downstream equipment.

Can it work as a co-extruder?

Yes. The adjustable version is particularly suitable for connection to an existing die head or main extruder, and heated hoses can be used when a flexible melt connection is required.

Can Green Extrusion build a customer-specific version?

Yes. Customer-specific engineering is an established part of the MULTI-X concept. We can adapt the process section, mounting, controls, tooling and auxiliary equipment to a clearly defined application.
